The Formula One title battle ramps up today with the drivers contesting the Brazil Grand Prix at Interlagos.
Lando Norris leads the race having started on pole position.
He leads Kimi Antonelli, Max Verstappen, George Russell and Oscar Piastri.
Kimi Antonelli is getting excellent traction on the critical corner exits before the long runs to Turns 1 and 4 – if he's perfect, he might just hold on!
    Lap 69/71
Here we go! Max Verstappen once again goes on the attack down the main straight, but he fails to close the gap on this occasion and Kimi Antonelli hangs on through turn one. Verstappen has another look through turn four but the Italian is still just that little bit too far in front
Further back, Oscar Piastri is all over the back of George Russell.
    Lap 67/71
Kimi Antonelli is only four laps away from equalling his best ever F1 finish. But Max Verstappen is now within a second of him…
Antonelli really needed George Russell to hold off the reigning world champ for longer.
    Lap 66/71
Max Verstappen is close to being in DRS range. Can Kimi Antonelli hold on?
George Russell is also having to defend. Oscar Piastri is close to getting in DRS range, too.
Nervy times in the Mercedes garages…
Lando Norris, meanwhile, leads Antonelli by over eight seconds.
Up front, Lando Norris has just unleashed two personal best laps in a row, with Max Verstappen still not yet with Kimi Antonelli, who is having clearly his best F1 weekend yet.
The race for the win is close to being sealed.
Brilliant pass from Max Verstappen and very fair defense on the inside from Russell. This race has it all!
    Lap 63/71
    Brilliant from Max Verstappen.
He goes on the attack on the main straight and swoops past a struggling George Russell on the outside.
He defends against Russell through the next corner and now has Kimi Antonelli in his sights…
Max Verstappen has just nudged back into the 1:13s, as he's in the dirty air coming off George Russell’s car.
If he clears it fast he'll still have the tires to make further gains on Lando Norris, but if not he'll likely come up short.
    Lap 60/71
Max Verstappen is told over team radio that the softs have been “a fairly vulnerable tyre, so do your best”.
💬 “We have nothing to lose,” he shoots back.
He’s around two seconds behind George Russell. But the Mercedes man seems to have an issue with his brakes.
The choice to change Max Verstappen's engine after his poor qualifying is inspired from Red Bull.
Like with Lewis Hamilton here in 2021, the extra power from a fresh engine can be really useful. But the soft has not been the best tire in this race and if he canes it too hard early on, he'll run out of time to catch Norris for the win
    Lap 57/71
Red Bull have pitted Max Verstappen. He’s now on a new set of softs. And so the hunted becomes the hunter…
Oscar Piastri, meanwhile, gets past Ollie Bearman and Liam Lawson to work his way into P6.
He trails Verstappen, who is attempting to get past the Mercedes duo of Kimi Antonelli and George Russell to challenge Lando Norris for the race win.
No one has won in F1 after starting from the pit lane at the beginning of the race.
Lando Norris now has to catch and pass Verstappen. He’s on fresher medium tires and in a quicker car. But … it’s Max Verstappen!
Big championship picture at play here for Norris. Does he go for glory if Verstappen makes his life difficult? Or settle for P2?
For all the deserved criticism McLaren's slow pitstops came in for a few races ago, it's done a mighty job getting its drivers turnaround fast when it mattered today.
    Lap 51/71
Lando Norris pits, most probably for the final time this race.
He’s back onto mediums and is now in P3, behind Max Verstappen and Oscar Piastri.
Piastri is also coming into the pits…
    Lap 50/71
Oscar Piastri picks up the pace and is currently the fastest man on the track.
He’s now up to third following a pair of Mercedes pit stops but still trails Max Verstappen by around three and a half seconds.
This is one of the most strategically interesting dry races in F1 for a long time. Norris was stretching his real lead over Antonelli before the Merc pitted, but if he's two-stopping his losing the net lead to Verstappen. Piastri on the attack and seems to be two-stopping and Verstappen seemingly set to go to the end. This could all still get much more mixed up before it's over!
    Lap 48/71
💬 “I hope you're a bit more optimistic than I am,” Oscar Piastri snipes over team radio. “Because it doesn't look very pretty where I am sat.”
    Lap 46/71
Oscar Piastri sounds very frustrated over team radio. McLaren have told him to push as hard as possible and to get everything he possibly can out of his current set of softs. But Max Verstappen in front of him is still setting some formidable lap time and Piastri isn’t making up all that much at the moment.
