After the historic triumph at the Women’s World Cup 2025, India Women’s side didn’t just lift the trophy; they gave a significant boost to women’s cricket in India. After their brilliant triumph, BCCI is set to come up with a bold change.
As per the reports, Harmanpreet Kaur and Co. are likely to get their first foreign Strength and Conditioning coach. The report revealed that the board is in talks with Bangladesh’s strength and Conditioning coach Nathan Keily.
In cricket-loving country like India, the Women’s cricket journey started from scratch. With time, they made their place with their brilliance, and the recent World Cup victory strengthened their place. That victory became a powerful boost for women’s cricket, not only across India but around the world.
After the historic win, the BCCI is set to bring a major shift in the women’s cricket arena. As per the reports, the board is likely to appoint the first foreign strength and conditioning coach for Harmanpreet Kaur and Co. that marking the beginning of another new era of women’s cricket in India.
As per the BCCI sources, the board is currently in talks with Bangladesh men’s strength and conditioning coach Nathan Kiely. Apart from his stint with the Tigers, Kiely also served the first-class side of New South Wales.
To date, strength and conditioning coaches have been attached to the BCCI’s Center of Excellence, but Keily’s appointment will be an exception. He will take charge as the first overseas coach.
In recent times, BCCI has focused on the strength & conditioning department. A few times back, the COE roped in two veteran strength & conditioning coaches. Women in Blue’s current strength and condition coach, Al Harrsha, did a remarkable job in the past few years, but a new role is waiting for him.
BCCI is yet to release any official statement on this development. But if Nathan Kiely joins the World Cup-winning squad, it could mark a major step toward an even stronger future for India Women’s cricket.
