Puka Nacua doubles down on referee critiques in deleted X post – USA Today

A “tweet-and-delete” unfolded following the Week 16 “Thursday Night Football” matchup between the Los Angeles Rams and Seattle Seahawks.
Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua has had an eventful week. He notched 225 yards and two touchdowns in the loss vs. the Seahawks on “Thursday Night Football.” Prior to that, he made a controversial livestream appearance that resulted in an apology for an antisemitic dance he demonstrated.
On that same stream, Nacua took aim at NFL referees for, what he believes, is a desire for the spotlight. Following the loss on Thursday night, Nacua doubled down on his critiques.
“Can you say i was wrong. Appreciate you stripes for your contribution. Lol,” he said in a now-deleted post.
Officials were involved, especially late during the matchup. The Rams were flagged eight times for 54 yards, including a critical second-and-10 pass interference call on LA cornerback Emmanuel Forbes in overtime.
Notably, officials overturned a questionable incomplete pass into a fumble recovery and a 2-point conversion, which was the game-tying try in the fourth quarter.
A penalty also negated a long return on the opening kickoff in overtime, but the drive still resulted in a Rams touchdown.
Following the game, head coach Sean McVay said he did not speak with Nacua regarding the post, but ensured that it would get “corrected.”
The Seahawks now sit at 12-3 and atop the NFC West.
