‘Stop!’ Aussie star’s furious act moments after scary incident — BBL LIVE – fox sports

Stars skipper Marcus Stoinis has given the Strikers’ Jamie Overton a serve following a nasty moment. The Strikers are 5-125 after 16 overs.
Stoinis dived to his left to stop a ball hit by Overton, with the Strikers taking a single.
Stoinis clearly didn’t like that. He seemed to yell ‘stop’ and an expletive at the batsman as he was injured so a run shouldn’t have been taken.

The all-rounder appeared to cop a shoulder injury but after a minute or so, he got to his feet and remained on the field.
Earlier, Stars paceman Haris Rauf also continued on after seemingly needing a teammate to put his finger back into place.
Rauf got his hand on a ball smashed back to him by batsmen Matt Short and looked to be in some pain, shaking his hand to help quell it.

Cameras then captured Stoinis seemingly administering care to Rauf’s finger before the Pakistani continued and bowled out his over.
“Is Marcus Stoinis putting his (Rauf’s) finger back in place? I think he is,” Brad Haddin said in commentary.
“He’s a tough man if so,” Mike Hussey responded.

    MATCH PREVIEW
Two unbeaten teams meet in tonight’s BBL clash with the Melbourne Stars travelling to Adelaide to take on the Strikers.
In a late blow, the Strikers will be without gun import Luke Wood, who has picked up an illness.
Wood has been replaced by 24-year-old debutant Jerrsis Wadia.
“It’s a pretty cool story. His parents are still in Mumbai. He’s been around the SACA program for a while now. During Covid he went back home (to India) for a year or two but came back,” Strikers captain Matt Short told Fox Cricket.
“He’s toiled hard in the background at the SACA so it’s awesome to see him get this opportunity.

The only two teams in the tournament that have yet to play more than one game, both sides were impressive winners in their only BBL15 starts.
The Stars were dominant eight wicket winners over Hobart last Thursday while Adelaide downed the Sydney Sixers in a result which has been subsequently strengthened by the Sixers’ easy win in the Sydney Smash.
Melbourne superstar Glenn Maxwell wasn’t needed with the bat in the Stars’ opener, but he was terrific in the field, taking an athletic grab on the boundary.

Maxwell recently made a big decision around his T20 future, pulling out of the recent IPL auction for next year’s season.
