    South Ripley topped Jac-Cen-Del 74-51 in girls basketball heard last night on WRBI. The Raiders Kaiya Rinear led all scorers with 28 points, followed by teammates Claire Samples with 15 and Lexi Franklin with 10 points. The Eagles were led by Kelsey Borgman, who tossed in 15 points, followed by Brooklyn Simon and Cheyenne Cullen with 10 a piece. South Ripley also won the JV game 44-24.
    Elsewhere, it was Batesville over South Decatur 63-32, Oldenburg topped Milan 65-30, Class 3A #1 Greensburg improves to 20-0 with a 70-33 win over New Palestine, Franklin County ran past South Dearborn 63-28, and North Decatur defeated Hauser 44-27.
    In the lone boys basketball contest on last night’s schedule, it was the Hauser Jets soaring past the OA Twisters 68-33.
    Multiple outlets are reporting the Reds have signed veteran righthanded hitting outfielder Austin Hays to a one-year, $5 million deal, pending a physical. Hays was an All-Star with Baltimore in 2023 but was plagued by injuries last year. He played in 85 games in 2024 with the Orioles and Philadelphia Phillies.
    After going 1-1 in Paris, France against San Antonio, the Pacers return home tonight against the Detroit Pistons. WRBI airtime is 6:30.
