Opener Sam Konstas has been added to the Australia squad for the last two Tests of the ongoing Border Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024-25 series. Konstas caught the eye with a reverse ramp shot during training ahead of the game.
The fourth Test is scheduled to begin on Thursday, December 26, and will be played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). Ahead of the Melbourne Test, Sam Konstas has been sweating it out in the nets.
A video of his training was uploaded by journalist Louis Cameron, showing him attempting a cheeky shot. Konstas also played a fancy reverse ramp shot in the nets, similar to England batter Joe Root.

The youngster appeared confident while playing the shot, which could be a good sign for Australia heading into the fourth Test at the MCG.
In a move that has been questioned by many, Australia dropped Nathan McSweeney and have called upon Sam Konstas for the final two Tests of the ongoing BGT 2024-25 series.
19-year-old Konstas scored 107 off 97 against India for the Prime Minister’s XI, which could have convinced the selectors to pick him for the senior squad.
Although very early in his career, the right-hander has impressive numbers. He has played just 11 first-class matches but has scored 718 runs at an average of 42.23 with two hundreds and three half-centuries.
It is expected that Sam Konstas, being called up mid-way through the series, will debut in the Melbourne Test. Should he be given the opportunity, the youngster will be eager to make the most of the same and leave a worthy first impression in international cricket for Australia.
