It’s a matter of when and not if, following an update from Brendan Rodgers.
“He’s still, at this moment, an Arsenal player,” he said this week. “I think we’re agreed that it will definitely take place in the summer. If we can do it beforehand, then great.
“I think that, like I said, we prepared that for the summer. I don’t want to speak too much on it with the greatest respect, because he’s not a Celtic player here now with us.
“But if we were able to do it, of course, we would like to do that, but that’s out of our control at this moment in time.”
Chelsea have agreed a deadline-day deal to sign England star Keira Walsh from Barcelona.
Walsh signed for the Spanish giants in 2022 for what was then a world-record fee, having just played a major part in the Lionesses’s European Championship triumph on home soil.

Marco Silva says Fulham are on the market for an attacker to replace the injured Harry Wilson.
“Of course we’re going to try,” he told reporters. “It’s not an easy market. After the injury of Wilson, yes we’re looking for a player in that position.
“It’s a really short period until the end of the winter market but let’s see what we can do.”
As Ollie Watkins is reportedly subject of interest from Arsenal, the striker’s previous comments about playing for the Gunners have resurfaced.
“That’s the dream, to play for Arsenal one day,” he said back in 2020. “But, you know, it’s a long shot.”
Will Watkins realise his dream before the January transfer window slams shut?
