Alpena High School freshman Haley Stenz led the way for the girls wrestling team with a third-place finish in the 110-pound weight class at the Midland Girls Wrestling Invitational.
The tournament was the largest event that the girls have competed in so far this season and represented top wrestlers from across the state.
Stenz finished the day with four wins and one loss, including three pins and one technical fall by a score of 19-3 in the third-place final match.
Junior Marleigh Hann (115) and sophomore Tryst Bukowieck (120) both finished the tournament with two losses.
The Wildcat girl wrestlers will now begin the MHSAA State tournament with Districts at Gaylord next Sunday.
