Throughout the tournament, experts have weighed in as to how the Men In Blue had an unfair advantage in the tournament, given that all of their matches were played in one single venue, that is, Dubai.
Meanwhile, Australian legend Glenn McGrath has voiced his opinion regarding the matter.

The former Australian pacer dismissed the claims of ‘unfair advantage’ of any kind. Instead, he said that India won because they know how to play on spin-friendly conditions and are usually better than other teams in the ODI format.
Speaking to the Times Of India, McGrath said, “It is the way it is. India does not travel to Pakistan anymore. There was only one other thing — the matches had to be played in Dubai.”
“You have to give credit to India, they played to the conditions. They know how to play on spinning tracks. I do not think that they had an unfair advantage. It is like saying there is an unfair advantage if India play all their matches in India, if Australia play all their matches in Australia.”

McGrath further added that the IPL and T20 cricket give India the edge over other teams in the 50-over format. He also stressed the fact that in order to protect Test cricket, the ODIs shouldn’t be neglected.
“Their IPL and T20 cricket has had a positive impact on one-day cricket. India are confident and they know their game well. It is important to protect Test cricket, but ODIs and World Cups are very important as well.”
He concluded by saying that India are a master of the ODI format and the team always has quality.
“India know the ODI game very well. It is a challenge for other teams to come over to India and play well. I like them to be challenged, but India are a quality team.”
