    Beavers fall in overtime to Midland University – Minot Daily News

    ST. LOUIS, Mo. - On Tuesday, the Minot State Beavers women’s hockey team fell to Midland University 1-0 in overtime. The game against Midland was game one of pool play in the ACHA National Tournament. 
    The game was a battle between the goalies for Minot State and Midland as both teams were held scoreless throughout the first three periods. In the first period, Minot State’s goalie, Jillian Ackerman, tallied 8 saves on 8 shots on goal, and Midland’s goalie, Meghan Stewart, tallied 4 saves on 4 shots on goal. 
    In the second period, Ackerman tallied 5 saves on 5 shots on goal, and Stewart tallied 6 saves on 6 shots on goal.
    In the third period, Ackerman tallied 7 saves on 7 shots on goal, and Stewart tallied 13 saves on 13 shots on goal. 
    Each team’s goalie sent the game into overtime with a 0-0 tie throughout the first 60 minutes of play. With a goal scored at 7:34 into the overtime period, Callie Maguire broke the scoreless tie to give Midland University the 0-1 overtime win. 
    In the Beavers loss, Ackerman tallied 20 saves on 20 shots on goal in regulation, and 21 saves on 22 shots on goal throughout the entire game.
