The Chicago Blackhawks ended their home schedule on Saturday night at the United Center with the Winnipeg Jets in town. A shootout loss brought their home record to 15-20-6. That includes their loss to the St. Louis Blues in the Winter Classic at Wrigley Field.
Everyone on the roster and staff wishes they had a better result in 2024-25, but they did a few good things in building for the future. Fans at the UC were treated to some fun moments with young players leading the way.
In 2025-26, the Blackhawks will have a party 100 years in the making. Their next home game will kick off their season-long centennial celebration. A century of hockey in Chicago is certainly worth commemorating.
Whether it’s the scores of former players that brought fans out of their seats, six Stanley Cup championships, or any other amazing moments in franchise history, there will be a lot to honor.
Although they likely won’t be contending for a deep run in the playoffs, they could be much better than they were in 2024-25, which would make the season-long celebration even better for the fans in attendance.
Young talent will lead the way most of the season. If they succeed, these guys will see how legends in Chicago are celebrated.
Guys like Connor Bedard, Sam Rinzel, Artyom Levshunov, & Frank Nazar, amongst others, want to be on that level. They will get there if they work on combining their talent with playing the right way. A celebration like 2025-26 should be good for their energy all year long.
Chicago hockey fans have a lot to look forward to. As they honor the past, the future is looking good.
