PBKS Pull Off Historic Defence, Stun KKR in Mullanpur
After conceding 245 against SRH, Punjab Kings bounced back with a record-low defence, bowling out KKR for 95 after posting just 111. Yuzvendra Chahal (4/28) triggered a collapse after KKR were cruising at 62/2.
Marco Jansen and Arshdeep Singh finished the job with clever short-pitched bowling. Earlier, Harshit Rana and Varun Chakravarthy stifled PBKS’s batting, but a spirited bowling performance pushed Punjab into the top four.
Nortje’s Bat Fails On-Field Test
Anrich Nortje’s bat was rejected mid-game after failing the on-field gauge test — a rare sight in IPL. Substitute Gurbaz brought out another bat, but Nortje didn’t get to use it as Andre Russell fell the very next ball.
A clip also showed Sunil Narine’s bat potentially failing the gauge test before KKR’s chase began. This marks a procedural shift as bat checks are now being done on the field.

BCCI Issues Corruption Warning During IPL
The BCCI’s Anti-Corruption Unit has issued a stern warning to all IPL stakeholders about a suspected individual from Hyderabad with known links to bookies.
The individual, reportedly posing as a fan, is said to be targeting players, support staff, and their families with lavish gifts and invitations to private parties. All IPL participants have been urged to report any suspicious interactions.
Rohit Sharma Stand At Wankhede; MCA Honours Cricket Icons
The Mumbai Cricket Association has decided to name a Wankhede Stadium stand after Rohit Sharma. The Level 3 Divecha Pavilion will now be called the Rohit Sharma Stand. Additionally, Level 4 becomes the Ajit Wadekar Stand, while the Grand Stand is now the Sharad Pawar Stand.
The MCA match-day office has also been renamed in memory of the late Amol Kale.
