It hasn’t been a great season for Lucknow Super Giants captain Rishabh Pant, who has scored 106 runs so far at an average of 15.14 so far with his strike rate also under 100 (98.15) – which is terrible for a star batter by T20 standards. His only fifty of the season, against Chennai Super Kings, has also come in a losing cause.

KL Rahul didn’t share the best of relations with LSG owner Sanjiv Goenka last season, having been rebuked in full public view in one of the matches, and parted ways with the franchise after captaining them for three seasons.
Rahul, now part of the Delhi Capitals, returns to his previoius home ground today. And the kind of form that he’s in at the moment he sure will have a point to prove against his former franchise.
Lest we forget, Rishabh Pant also has a point to prove against Delhi Capitals, the franchise that he was part of for eight years, with LSG having suffered a narrow loss against DC in Visakhapatnam earlier this season.
“Home conditions are not very advantageous in IPL but yes you have an idea as to what to consider. There is not much advantage to the team.
“You are familiar with the weather, ground dimension etc. But all teams have similar preparation,” Nigam said on the eve of DC’s match against Lucknow Super Giants.
Much like the current season, Lucknow Super Giants and Delhi Capitals had squared off twice last year, with DC winning both games. The Capitals had won the first encounter, at LSG’s home turf, by six wickets after being set 168 to win before collecting a 19-run win after setting the Super Giants 209 to win in their home leg.
DC and LSG, incidentally, were led by Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul respectively, who have since swapped franchises, with the latter no longer in a leadership role. Neither team, however, would make it to last year’s playoffs.
IPL 2025 LSG vs DC Live Score & Updates: Rishabh Pant’s team, Lucknow Super Giants, will face Axar Patel’s Delhi Capitals in Match 40 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 on Tuesday (22 April). LSG are coming into this match after a tight win against Rajasthan Royals, while DC are looking to bounce back after losing to the table-toppers, Gujarat Titans.
The match will take place at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. Both teams are currently on 10 points each but DC are ahead thanks to their superior Net Run Rate (NRR). In their previous clash this season, DC defeated LSG by 1 wicket thanks to a late finish from Ashutosh Sharma, who scored an unbeaten 66 off 31 balls to chase down 210 with three balls remaining.
