Grenada, Miss.(VDN)—Softball season has officially come to an end for Vicksburg High School after falling short to Grenada High School on Monday night. The Missy Gators took the series to game three after defeating Grenada 8-6 in game one on Friday nights.
Lili Kister pitched the game for VHS where she struck out four batters in her final game.
Grenada picked up all four of their runs in the first inning after two singles and a double to go up 4-0. The Missy Gators earned their first big break in the fourth when Madisyn Kimble hit a triple to bring in a run. Camden McGloster then stepped up to hit a single that added the second run of the night for VHS as the score sat at 4-2.
After Zion Harvey hit a triple in the fifth, Trinity McGloster drove in her team’s final run from a single to put the score at 4-3.
Although the Missy Gators would eventually fall short, they went out swinging as their final batter struck out in the seventh.
Makynzie Dunmore, Harvey, and Trinity McGloster(1 RBI) all finished the game with two hits each. Avery VanNorman, Camden(1 RBI), Kimble(1 RBI), and Harmony Harris each had one hit.
