India Responds Strongly To Shahid Afridi's Anti-National Remarks – ABP Live English

Former Pakistan cricketer Shahid Afridi has faced a major setback as the Indian government has taken strict action in response to his recent controversial statements about India.
Afridi had made inflammatory remarks following the Pahalgam terror attack, targeting the Indian Army and government. In retaliation, the Indian government has blocked access to Afridi’s YouTube channel within India, effectively barring Indian viewers from seeing his content – a move expected to result in loss of reach and engagement for the former cricketer.
While an official confirmation from the Ministry of Home Affairs is still pending, Shahid Afridi’s YouTube channel is currently inaccessible in India. Users trying to visit the channel are now greeted with a notification stating that the content is not available in their country.
The trigger came after Afridi commented on the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, where 36 civilians lost their lives.
Speaking on a Pakistani news channel, Afridi questioned the competence of the Indian Army, stating, “You have 800,000 troops in Kashmir and yet this happens? It shows your failure – you couldn’t even protect your own people.”
Afridi also criticized Indian cricketers who have supported severing cricketing ties with Pakistan, accusing them of hypocrisy for participating in other sporting events like Kabaddi while calling for a cricket boycott. “If you want to break ties, do it completely, not selectively,” he added.
Shikhar Dhawan’s strong response
Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan gave a sharp reply, reminding Afridi of Pakistan’s defeat in the Kargil war. “You were defeated in Kargil. How much lower will you fall? Instead of making pointless remarks, focus on your country’s progress. We are proud of our Indian Army. Bharat Mata ki Jai. Jai Hind,” said Dhawan.
Afridi responds again
Shahid Afridi later responded via social media with a sarcastic jibe at Dhawan: “Forget winning or losing — just come over, I’ll serve you tea, Shikhar,” a remark seen by many as crossing the line.
