It was an exciting final day of third-round action to conclude the first week of the 2025 French Open. Coco Gauff (2) advanced in straight sets 6-1, 7-6 (3) over Marie Bouzková. Madison Keys and Jessica Pegula won their respective matches in three sets after dropping the opener.
In the nightcap, Novak Djokovic won his 99th match at Roland Garros in straight sets to advance to a 16th consecutive second week.
There are eight Americans (five men, three women) into the Round of 16 at Roland Garros, the most since 1985. The fields in the men's and women's singles draws are now down to 16, all vying to become French Open champions.

Novak Djokovic is into the second week at the 2025 French Open. He defeats Austrian qualifier Filip Misolic in straight sets 6-3, 6-4, 6-2.
Djokovic had many break point opportunities but converted just 4-of-16 against Misolic. He won 95 points, fired five aces and won 80 percent of his first serve points.
It is Djokovic's 99th Roland Garros victory and the 16th consecutive year he's reached the second week at the French Open. His Round of 16 opponent is Cam Norrie.

Filip Misolic, the Austrian qualifier, has been keeping Djokovic in plenty of lengthy baseline exchanges, but he hasn't been able to really hurt or stretch him at any point.
Djokovic is up 5-3 after punishing Misolic for some very average overheads by hoisting them high into the night air. Misolic eventually mistimed one long to give Djokovic the break of serve he was hunting. Two holds of serve later, Djokovic will now serve for the set.
On the 10th break point opportunity, Novak Djokovic finally breaks Filip Misolic's serve. It was an extended rally, as Djokovic ran side to side, hitting lobs and forcing Misolic to hit overhead smashes.
