    SLEEPY EYE — Jayde Altermatt pitched five no-hit innings in Game 1 and Abbey Hillesheim allowed four hits in Game 2 as the New Ulm Cathedral Greyhounds shut down the Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s Knights 11-0 and 13-0 Wednesday in a Tomahawk Division softball doubleheader.
    In the 11-0 Game 1 win, Altermatt struck out 11 and walked one in her no-hit shutout. The Greyhounds were led by Madelyn Haala’s 3-for-3 day at the plate in the opener, which saw her finish with two doubles and two RBIs. Brynn Wilfahrt also was 2 for 3 with a triple, a double and three RBIs in Game 1 for the Greyhounds, while Abbey Hillesheim was 2 for 3 with a double and Ava Brennan was 2 for 4 and Ashlyn Hillesheim added a double.
    Eva Schweiss walked for the Knights’ lone base runner in Game 1. Natalie Zarn took the loss for the Knights in Game 1, allowing eight hits and no walks for five earned runs.
    In Game 2, Abbey Hillesheim got the shutout win in four innings of work, allowing four hits and a walk while striking out two. Ava Schmid tripled and drove in three runs to lead Cathedral at the plate, while Ava Brennan doubled and drove in three runs while scoring three runs. Haala, Ashlyn Hillesheim and Jaylin Hartness each doubled for the Greyhounds also.
    Josie Helget was 2 for 3 with two doubles to lead the Knights in Game 2 at the plate, while Reese Hoffman and Rivers Helget added singles for the Knights’ other hits. Taylor Mathiowetz took the loss for the Knights in four innings, allowing eight hits and seven walks for six earned runs.
    The Greyhounds won their seventh and eighth games in a row and moved to 8-2 on the season overall and 6-1 in the Tomahawk. The Knights fell to 2-6 overall and 2-5 in the Tomahawk with the loss.
    Cathedral hosts Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart in a doubleheader Monday, while St. Mary’s hosts Nicollet on Friday.
