GIRLS GOLF
NEW ULM – The Fairmont Cardinals girls golf team locked in a second-place finish, shooting a 200 at the New Ulm Invite on Thursday.
Le Sueur-Henderson won the invite, shooting a 197.
Leslie Zarling led the Cardinals taking third by shooting a 48, while Katherine Zelaya locked in sixth shooting a 50. Carly Gustafson and Joslyn Meyer tied for eighth shooting a 51, while Kailyn Miller shot a 59 for 22nd place.
Fairmont heads to Windom for a 4 p.m. meet on Monday.

BOYS GOLF
NEW ULM – The Fairmont Cardinals boys golf team finished seventh at the New Ulm Invite, shooting a 190 on Thursday. New Ulm took the victory, shooting a 155.
Hudson McKean finished 14th, shooting a 43, while MacKlain Anderson finished 24th after shooting a 46. Klay Beemer shot a 48 for 28th, while Colton Wells placed 37th, shooting a 53.
Fairmont heads to Adrian for a 4 p.m. meet on Monday.
PREP TRACK AND FIELD
WASECA – The Fairmont Cardinals track and field team participated in an abbreviated meet on Thursday night due to weather conditions.
In the boys’ 110-meter hurdles, Jaron Schutz placed fourth, running a 17.67, while Ethan Pockrus took fifth after running an 18.96.
Cadence Leiding finished third in the girls 100-meter hurdles by running a 16.89.
In the 4×800 boys relay, the team of Jordan Thompson, Carter Hanson, Cooper Gudahl, and Brier Lenort finished second, running a 8:43.01.
The team of Abbie Simpson, Mackenzie Gerhardt, Avery Steuber, and Ella Wubbena finished fourth in the girls 4×800 relay, running a 11:08.09.
Nathaliah Johnson took third in the girls 100-meter running a 13.31.
Oliver Tordsen placed third in the boys discus with a throw of 158 feet, 4 inches.
In the girls shot put Ellie Ortega placed first with a throw of 36 feet, 4 inches, while Kennedy Becker took fourth with a throw of 32 feet.
Cooper Guddahl tied for first in the boys high jump clearing 5 feet, 2 inches.
In the girls high jump Emelia Klanderud took third with a jump of 4 feet, 4 inches.
The Cardinals next meet is Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. in Worthington.
