After three miles racers, get a downhill stretch along Fries Parkway.
A downhill stretch after mile marker three takes runners and walkers through a fairly rural stretch of the course down the Fries Parkway. Participants will enjoy a nice reprieve from the continuous uphill of the previous mile and will pass by the 5K marker during this mile. Fries Parkway will then turn into Marrtown Road. Don’t forget to take in some of the surrounding nature during this portion, as the race will move back into residential areas.
The News and Sentinel Half Marathon and Two-Mile Race will be held Aug. 16.
