Arsenal are leading 2-1 against Bayern Munich in the second half of their Champions League clash.
The visitors made a dominant start but went behind in the 22nd minute as Jurrien Timber headed Bukayo Saka's corner past Manuel Neuer.
10 minutes later, Bayern were on level terms thanks to a wonderfully worked goal finished off by 17-year-old Lennart Karl.
Take a look at The Athletic's live schedule this week.
68’ Arsenal 2-1 Bayern Munich
And what about that for an immediate impact from Calafiori! He gets the assist with a lovely run in behind and cross for Madueke to turn in.
68’ Arsenal 1-1 Bayern Munich
That was a tremendous long diagonal ball to Olise moments ago that Karl, aged 17, was gesturing needed to be hit (incredible maturity in his play). And Olise, not for the first time, got away from Lewis-Skelly, who's had a difficult night and now heads off.
67’ Arsenal 1-1 Bayern Munich
On come Gabriel Martinelli and Riccardo Calafiori for Bukayo Saka and Myles Lewis-Skelly.
64’ Arsenal 1-1 Bayern Munich
It's unexpected given all that he's achieved during his career and his reputation for being commanding and dominant, but Manuel Neuer has been vulnerable under the high ball quite regularly this season and Arsenal are examining that flaw at every opportunity.
64’ Arsenal 1-1 Bayern Munich
Arsenal have already had five headed shots after an hour tonight, their joint-most in any Champions League game since 2023-24.
62’ Arsenal 1-1 Bayern Munich
Bayern are really struggling to deal with Arsenal's set-piece threat. The delivery has been typically excellent tonight.
62’ Arsenal 1-1 Bayern Munich
Rice goes on a stellar run up field all the way into the box, and gets a shot away but it is cleared by Laimer on the line.
He had to get a touch or Saka would have had a tap-in — at first it was hard to understand how the Arsenal winger had not scored, but it just came back to him too quickly for him to react.
61’ Arsenal 1-1 Bayern Munich
It's old news, but the quality of Declan Rice's delivery is remarkable. Every set piece – free kick or corner – is right on the money, and it's a nightmare for Bayern to defend against.
60’ Arsenal 1-1 Bayern Munich
Three headed chances from corners for Merino in quick succession in this half, and he doesn’t quite make the most of any of them, most recently heading wide from Rice’s inswinger.
Bayern have been effective at shutting them down, for the most part, in open play, but look rather vulnerable to Saka’s inswinging corners from the right.
60’ Arsenal 1-1 Bayern Munich
Every delivery has been bang on from the Arsenal midfielder.
Rice causes bother with a free kick that Mosquera meets and Neuer palms away.
Arsenal are cranking up the pressure and it is showing — Bayern manager Kompany has picked up a yellow card.
58’ Arsenal 1-1 Bayern Munich
That is their closest one of the half.
Merino meets a corner again and the ball skips off his head and just wide of Neuer’s post. He holds his head in his hands and you can understand why. That was so close.
56’ Arsenal 1-1 Bayern Munich
That was a good chance for the Arsenal man — he meets a lovely delivery with a stooped header but it’s straight at Neuer.
Then, at the other end, Raya is called into action as Karl races through and rolls a low effort straight at the hosts' goalkeeper.
51’ Arsenal 1-1 Bayern Munich
And that nearly paid off again for the hosts!
Merino was closest to the delivery from Saka but could not get a clean contact on the ball.
Arsenal were able to recycle the ball from the clearance and Merino had a second bite of the cherry with a wild shot that flew over the bar.
48’ Arsenal 1-1 Bayern Munich
That’s a good save from the goalkeeper, who tips over a high shot from Saka.
Arsenal try another training-ground routine from the corner but Bayern are able to clear.
45’ Arsenal 1-1 Bayern Munich
Arsenal take the kick-off to restart this match and send it long…
HT Arsenal 1-1 Bayern Munich
Former Bayern Munich — and current England — manager Thomas Tuchel is in attendance at the Emirates Stadium tonight.
He will have been keeping a close eye on Harry Kane, Bukayo Saka, Declan Rice, Eberechi Eze, Myles Lewis-Skelly and Noni Madueke in that first half as we edge ever closer to next summer's World Cup.
The goals have been flying in around Europe. Liverpool went behind again at home but are back on level terms against PSV, while Real Madrid also went behind against Olympiacos but a Kylian Mbappe hat-trick has them in full control.
In Paris, Tottenham took the lead against European champions PSG but were pegged back just before half-time. Here are the half-time scores from the Champions League.
And here are the results from the two early kick-offs.
Result: Copenhgane 3-2 Kairat Almaty (Dadason, Larsson, Robert; Satpaev, Baybek)
Result: Pafos 2-2 Monaco (Luiz, Salisu OG; Minamino, Balogun)
HT Arsenal 1-1 Bayern Munich
We expected a high-quality between these two teams and that's exactly what we got. Furthermore, we got one of the goals of the season so far from Bayern.
They had 24 uninterrupted touches of the ball in the move that brought them back into the game with all but one of their players touching the ball in the process.
The only one that didn't? That would be Harry Kane.
HT Arsenal 1-1 Bayern Munich
Well, we have our answer as to whether Lennart Karl would be overawed by the occasion tonight and that answer is: absolutely not!
The 17-year-old set the tone in the first minute of the match, tearing away on a jinking run, and he carried it on throughout that first half. He was daring in possession every time he got the ball and took his equalising superbly with a well-controlled volley on the run.
It was all about Estevao at Stamford Bridge last night and it's all about Karl, one year his junior, this evening.
I have a feeling we're going to see a lot of this young man going forward…
