    Astros avoid late collapse, take down Rangers in 11-inning walk-off win – Click2Houston

    After losing four-straight games, the Houston Astros finally got back into the win column Saturday night, taking down the Texas Rangers in a 5-4 victory that took 11 innings to wrap up.
    Jose Altuve, Yainer Diaz and Mauricio Dubon each recorded a solo home run in the game.

    Framber Valdez started at the mound for Houston. After loading the bases and surrendering a run in the opening inning, he found his footing and settled in for a quality start. In 6.0 innings of action, he allowed four hits and one run while recording 10 strikeouts.
    After Bryan Abreu gave up a solo home run to Marcus Semien in the top of the eighth inning to make it a 3-2 ballgame, closer Josh Hader came in for relief to close out the ninth.
    Down to their last out, Rangers’ designated hitter Kyle Higashioka blasted a solo home run into left field to tie the game. After the Astros failed to score in the bottom of the frame, the game went to extra innings.
    After the teams each blanked in the 10th inning, the Rangers took a 4-3 lead in the top of the 11th inning off of a double by Adolis Garcia.
    In the bottom of the frame, two straight walks loaded the bases for Houston with nobody out. Christian Walker brought a run home with a sacrifice fly to tie the score at four, and Zack Short finished the deal with a hit to bring in the winning run from second base.
    The win lifts the Astros to 56-39 on the season, while the Rangers fall to 47-49.
