Athletes, coaches and athletic directors — totaling 240 people representing 18 area high schools — participated in the annual Sportsmanship Symposium at Northwest Arena in Jamestown on Friday. Jamestown native Ben Cecchini held sessions on breathing techniques to cope with anxiety which were new to most, yet well received; and Dr. Brian Mata, along with several local athletic trainers, discussed with the participants and coaches, who also included eight Unified Special Olympians, injury prevention strategies and rehabilitation.
