BRAINERD — The Alexandria baseball team picked up a pair of victories on Thursday in Brainerd, winning 5-1 and 4-2 over the Warriors.
Landon Gess-Norling earned the win on the mound for Alexandria as he struck out six batters and allowed only one run.

Jackson Waltzing, Boone Branson, and John Botzet each had a pair of hits for the Cardinals.
The Cardinals and Warriors were tied 2-2 heading to the bottom of the fifth inning of game two, but an Evan Zabel RBI groundout in the bottom of the fifth inning and a Waltzing RBI groundout in the bottom of the sixth inning gave the Cardinals the win in game two.
Alexandria (5-1) hosts St. Francis (5-0) at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
The Upsala-Swanville Patriots (4-2) handed the Parkers Prairie Panthers its second loss of the season on Thursday, as it won 9-2.
Joe Johnson led the Panthers in defeat on offense with three hits.
Parkers Prairie (5-2) hosts Pillager (3-4) at 4 p.m. on Friday.
