The Beavers’ first home game of the season came on Sept. 13 against the Concordia-St. Paul Golden Bears. The game was the closest one of the season so far for the Beavers, ending in a third loss 21-27. The Beavers were able to keep up with the Golden Bears all the way through the first three quarters, with the Golden Bears finally taking the lead back with just three and a half minutes left in the ball game.
The Beavers went back on the road the next week to take on Winona State University. Their record on the season dropped again to 0-4 in a 25-35 loss against the Warriors. Minot State once again fell behind early and stayed there through the entirety of the game. The Beavers earned their first win of the season at home against Bemidji State at Herb Parker Stadium on Sept. 27.
