After bowling beautifully against India in the first ODI and before that, showcasing great rhythm on the tour of New Zealand in the T20Is, Australian pacer Josh Hazlewood has rung alarm bells for the touring England side ahead of Ashes 2025-26.
The 34-year-old said that he feels really happy about his body and form and would most likely play all the five Tests of the upcoming Ashes.
“It was a nice start. My rhythm felt good off the back of New Zealand. Everything is feeling good at the moment, a nice way to start the build (to the Ashes). My body feels great right now, I am very confident of getting through all five (Tests) without any dramas,” Reuters quoted Hazlewood as saying after the end of the first ODI against India in Perth.
Talking about the Perth wicket, the ground which hosted the first ODI and which is also slated to host the first Ashes Test, Hazlewood said, “Perth always offers some nice bounce and pace which has served us well in the past, especially with our bowlers who all offer something different.”
Hazlewood, one of the many Australian pacers to be perennially prone to injuries, has found it hard to play throughout a five-match Test series of late. He has so far played 76 Tests, taking 295 wickets at a brilliant average of 24.22.
