The fifth Test between India and Australia will commence on Friday (January 3) at the Sydney Cricket Ground. The hosts lead the five-match BGT 2024-25 series by a 2-1 margin.

Australia have already named their playing XI for the final Test on Thursday. They dropped Mitchell Marsh and included debutant Beau Webster for the all-rounder role. India will miss the services of pacer Akash Deep, who was ruled out of the match due to a back spasm. It has been reported that captain Rohit Sharma might also sit out owing to his poor recent batting form. Shubman Gill and Prasidh Krishna might potentially replace the duo in the playing XI.
