Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain are level 0-0 in the final of the 2025 Club World Cup, with President Donald Trump in attendance at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
The two teams have already won international trophies this season; PSG are the European champions while their opponents won the UEFA Conference League.
The game is being shown live on DAZN and highlights will be available later on The Athletic. You can join the conversation throughout by emailing live@theathletic.com.
    7' Chelsea 0-0 PSG
Chelsea have already managed to go longer than Real Madrid without conceding a goal against this PSG side.

It seemed quite obvious from the team selection, but we have got confirmation that Reece James will be part of the Chelsea midfield today.
It feels like an attempt for the Premier League side to match up with the European champions' three-man midfield.
I still fancy, despite James' defensive strengths, that the PSG trio will find a way to counter it.
    3' Chelsea 0-0 PSG
The first stages of this final feel particularly important given PSG's status as strong favourites coming into it.
Chelsea seem keen to stamp their authority on the match from the start and have made a bright start. Cole Palmer looks on it today with a couple of really nice early touches and there was a chance for Marc Cucurella, but his header was poor and PSG were able to clear.

We are all now ready to rumble and the 2025 Club World Cup final is underway from MetLife Stadium.
Any chance of a game of football being played?
Just when we thought we were about to start, we have got to hear from Michael Buffer.
As I said for the semi-finals, it is great to hear from him before a huge fight night but not before a match like this.
To be fair, the fans seem to well up for it so maybe I'm just miserable.

As a result of FIFA packing the pitch with inflatable trophies, the team crests and a load of other paraphernalia, there are now hundreds of workers dressed in black desperately trying to clear it all away.
We should have kicked off six minutes ago…
Finally, the players are starting to emerge at MetLife Stadium.
It all feels a little bit sensory overload, so I don't even want to imagine how FIFA are going to approach the World Cup final in this stadium in a year's time.
Hopefully they decide to bin off this idea of introducing the players individually, it has been awful throughout the tournament.
Interesting how the beginning of that performance faced one side of the stadium, and then once the "tribute to America" began, the performers turned around to face President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump.
They showed three fighter jets flying by in the general vicinity of the stadium on the big screens here, but they didn't actually fly directly overhead. Not sure what that accomplishes then.
The fans in attendance likely didn't even notice.
A rendition of the Star-Spangled Banner has been followed by plenty of pyrotechnics — that might have looked better had it not been in the daytime — and then a flyover.
We will definitely not be kicking off on time here, particularly because of this tournament's insistence on introducing the players one by one from the tunnel.
If only FIFA had given themselves months to prepare for this event…

For the first time at this Club World Cup, President Donald Trump is in attendance.
He has spent a lot of time with FIFA president Gianni Infantino in the build-up to this tournament and ahead of next year's World Cup in the United States.
The officials walked out at 2.51pm local time but we don’t have long to get Robbie Williams' stage — and the giant inflatable Club World Cup trophy — off the pitch before the planned 3pm kick-off…
Robbie Williams' performance was fine, but surely it would have been better if it was performed by a CGI monkey.
The pre-final entertainment has just got underway.
Former Take That member Robbie Williams, or the star of Better Man for those of you reading this in the United States, is performing his official Club World Cup song Desire with Laura Pausini.
As always, these big shows so close to kick-off completely disturb — and ruin — any pre-match atmosphere being generated by the supporters.
This one is particularly bad, which is very on brand for this tournament.
Presumably this version is lighter than the actual Club World Cup trophy…

I'm a bit surprised to see Gusto and James both starting for Chelsea — seemingly with the latter playing in midfield.
At first I thought it was an odd selection choice, but with PSG’s threat in wide areas it might mean that James can support in doubling up defensively. I'm interested to see how this one plays out.
There isn't much left for Marquinhos to achieve as PSG captain having hoisted the Champions League trophy just a handful of weeks ago. The Club World Cup trophy is one that he hasn't got his hands on yet, so today marks another potentially career-defining moment.
This will be the 22nd time that he has played for PSG in a final and the Brazilian has a superb record in those matches. Marquinhos has won 19 of the previous 21 finals, losing only to Rennes in the 2019 Coupe de France final and to Bayern Munich in the 2022 Champions League final.
A big call for Enzo Maresca to start Joao Pedro today. The Brazil international has only been with the squad for a matter of days, and now he is starting in the final of a Club World Cup against the best team in Europe.
Does this mean that Joao Pedro is currently the starting No 9 for Chelsea going into the new season? Currently, it is his shirt to lose.
