Chelsea are leading Paris Saint-Germain 3-0 in the final of the 2025 Club World Cup, with President Donald Trump in attendance at the MetLife Stadium.
England international Cole Palmer scored Chelsea’s first two goals with Joao Pedro adding the third shortly before the half-time break.
The game is live on DAZN and highlights will be available later on The Athletic.

The first change of the game is made by Luis Enrique who has replaced Kvaratskhelia with Bradley Barcola.
An uncharacteristically quiet performance from the Georgian — huge credit must go to Gusto and his supporting cast for keeping him out of the game.

The Oles are out for the Chelsea fans, marking every pass with a loud cheer.
Bit triumphalist, if you ask me, when facing a side that put three past Real Madrid in the space of 24 minutes.

And there's the counter-attacking threat.
Chelsea turned defence into attack quickly and Pedro burst into the penalty area before going down under minimal contact from Beraldo.
The referee immediately waved away the Brazilian's protests and there was no real need for VAR to check it.
55' Chelsea 3-0 PSG
The waves of PSG pressure keep coming and Doué was the latest man in a white shirt to take aim.
His effort from 25 yards, though, was always on the wrong line and Sanchez was able to watch it wide of his near post.
Chelsea will be only too happy to see shots from distance like that given it is such a low-percentage play.
53' Chelsea 3-0 PSG
Another superb stop from Sanchez who is turning in one of his best Chelsea performances at the perfect time!
PSG have improved massively and are looking a little more like the team that demolished Real Madrid on this pitch on Wednesday.
Doue aimed a low pass into the Chelsea penalty area and Dembele's scuffed effort looked destined for the bottom corner but was turned behind excellently by Sanchez.
What a save!
51' Chelsea 3-0 PSG
The game plan for Chelsea seems pretty clear in this second half. They are going to let PSG have possession and ensure they make it as hard as possible for them to break through the low block.
And then, when Chelsea win the ball, they're looking to spring counter-attacks. It seems strange to deviate so far away from the plan that worked to perfection in the first half.

It sounds very cliche, but the opening minutes of this second half are going to be so important.
PSG have come flying out of the blocks and are causing Chelsea more problems than they did in the entirety of the first half.
Sanchez had to be on his guard to come out and stop Ruiz's progress before making a bit of a mess of saving a pretty tame Kvaratskhelia effort.
46' Chelsea 3-0 PSG
The half-time break was 23 minutes long. I don't want to be that guy, but …. come on, lads, get on with the game.
46' Chelsea 3-0 PSG
The half-time show being away from the pitch was supposed to help us start the second half on time, but the half-time break ended up being almost 10 minutes too long.
Anyway, the players are back out and we are finally back underway at MetLife Stadium.
Chelsea are 45 minutes away from securing world-champion status for the third time. PSG, meanwhile, need a huge comeback.
… it was also a bit strange that Doja Cat decided to perform in a rip-off of Crystal Palace’s iconic 1996-98 Adidas kit.

That half-time show seemed made for broadcast more than an in-venue experience. The artists are a speck in the distance for most fans, but it definitely looks pretty impressive on big screens with the skyline views, while it also avoids doing any damage to the field.
I think it’s a pretty good solution that hasn’t felt tacky or undermined the sporting product. It has also finished within 15 minutes. Let’s see when the game restarts.

Of course it is.
It started with J Balvin and Doja Cat and seems to be finishing with Coldplay's Chris Martin.
I feel particularly sorry for any fans with tickets seated next to or beneath this makeshift stage.

As American stadiums do, MetLife has a banner honouring the championships the resident teams have won.
The one for the New York Giants refers to their titles as world championships. The reality, of course, is that the NFL only has American teams. A bit weird, then, to proclaim themselves champions of the world.
A bit like a Club World Cup that doesn't include some of the best teams…

Since Qatar Sports Investments took over PSG in 2011, this is only the third time they have conceded three or more first-half goals in a match.
The good news for the Parisians is that they came back to draw both of the other two: against Lyon in 2012 and Amiens in 2020.
You certainly wouldn't put it past them recreating that given the embarrassment of riches available to Luis Enrique in this team.

As if the pre-match show wasn't enough to put you off these FIFA-hosted events, we now have a half-time show to endure.
J Balvin and Doja Cat are the two stars, but they are tucked right at the top of MetLife Stadium and most of the fans have ducked into the concourse to avoid the relentless sun and enjoy some half-time refreshment.
At least the action on the pitch has been enjoyable because these shows are awful.
HT Chelsea 3-0 PSG
If Chelsea are capable of thrashing a team like PSG, the Premier League is going to be ultra-competitive this season.
Liverpool are reigning champions and have added Florian Wirtz, Manchester City have comprehensively reloaded, Arsenal look to finally be signing a striker, Newcastle are making significant investments, and now you throw the presumptive world champions into the mix.
And that's before considering whether clubs like Manchester United and Tottenham can return to the domestic levels they expect to be at.

There was a bit of a sense of disbelief at MetLife Stadium after Chelsea’s third goal.
They are doing to UEFA Champions League winners PSG what the French champions did to Real Madrid here on Wednesday. Remarkable.
HT Chelsea 3-0 PSG
A great roar from the Chelsea fans at the half-time whistle. Their supporters section behind the goal is full of energy as they serenade their players off the pitch. You have to imagine more than a few fans are pinching themselves, hardly able to believe what their team is doing to the European champions.

An extraordinary first half comes to an end and Chelsea are 3-0 up against the European champions in the Club World Cup final!
PSG are usually the team going in at half-time with a commanding lead, yet they have it all to do in the second half.
Cole Palmer has been excellent with two goals as well as an assist for Joao Pedro who got his third Chelsea goal on just his second start.
