The College Football Playoff semifinals conclude on Friday evening, with the inaugural 12-team field whittled down to just three contenders.
On Thursday, No. 7 Notre Dame edged No. 6 Penn State at the Orange Bowl to lock up a spot in the championship game in Atlanta.

On Friday, blue bloods collide as No. 5 Texas battles No. 8 Ohio State at the Cotton Bowl. The Buckeyes looked downright dominant in the Rose Bowl, while the Longhorns needed an overtime comeback to squeak past Arizona State in the Peach Bowl.
