Sangareddy: Cricket betting claimed a life in Sangareddy district, with a 31-year-old man ending his life after losing a large sum of money. The deceased was identified as Akhil, a resident of Sai Nagar in RC Puram mandal.
According to police, Akhil checked into an Oyo room near Beeramguda Kaman on Monday evening. He later called his father, Sangeeth Rao, and informed him that he was planning to end his life. Despite his father’s assurances of help, Akhil took the extreme step soon after the call.
When Akhil did not open his room door the next morning, the Oyo staff alerted the management. The owner broke open the door and found Akhil hanging.
Police shifted the body for postmortem and registered a case. Investigation is underway.
