Los Angeles Knight Riders (LAKR) head coach and cricket legend DJ Bravo has publicly endorsed former India U19 captain Unmukt Chand for inclusion in the USA Men’s national cricket team after a stellar knock from the batter.
Sharing his thoughts on Instagram, DJ Bravo posted a story after the Los Angeles Knight Riders vs Seattle Orcas match on June 23. With a picture of Unmukt playing, Bravo wrote in his story, “This guy (Unmukt Chand) deserves to be involved in USA Cricket team. Cricket is bigger than politics. Let’s do right for these players. Well Done!”

The praise comes after Unmukt Chand’s match-winning unbeaten 86 off 58 balls in the Major League Cricket (MLC) 2025 clash against Seattle Orcas.
Chand’s innings was a masterclass in composure and power-hitting. Coming in after LAKR stumbled early at 7 for 2, Chand steadied the innings and gradually accelerated, smashing 10 fours and 4 sixes at a strike rate of 148.28.
Unmukt Chand’s crucial 139-run partnership with Saif Badar, who scored a quickfire 54 off 32 balls, turned the game on its head. Chand’s ability to dominate bowlers like Cameron Gannon and Sikandar Raza shifted momentum decisively in LAKR’s favour.
Seattle Orcas had set a competitive target of 177 for 6, with Aaron Jones top-scoring with 44 and David Warner contributing 38. However, LAKR’s bowling attack, led by Andre Russell’s 3 for 30, kept the Orcas in check. Despite early wickets falling, Chand’s calm and aggressive approach ensured LAKR chased down the target comfortably with six wickets in hand and 10 balls to spare.
DJ Bravo’s call for Chand’s inclusion in the USA team highlights the growing recognition of Chand’s talent beyond Indian cricket circles. Having signed with LAKR in 2024, Chand has impressed consistently in MLC 2025, averaging over 53 with multiple impactful innings.
