PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) — In the indictment of the sports betting scheme, it says a number of people are labeled as "unindicted co-conspirators."

The Department of Justice defines that as someone involved in a conspiracy but not formally charged in the crime.
DOJ policy prevents prosecutors from identifying those people by name.
One of them is a person who lives in Oregon, played in the NBA from 1997 to 2014 and has been coaching since 2021.
That fits Chauncey Billups' playing and coaching career. However, to be clear, Billups is not named in the indictment.

The indictment says this un-indicted co-conspirator told one of the defendants the blazers were tanking and that at least one specific player would not play in a March 2023 game against the Chicago Bulls.
Prosecutors say multiple people used that information to bet roughly $100,000 against the Blazers before the public knew who was and was not playing in the game.
The blazers ended up losing by nearly 30 points. Damian Lillard and other top players sat out the game.
I reached out to the Blazers for comment on Billups’ possible involvement in this scheme but did not hear back.
Once again, Billups is not charged with committing a crime in that case.
