Fellow overnight batter Ravindra Jadeja also made 89 as Team India mounted 587 in 151 overs. For England, Josh Tongue picked up two wickets in the day before Shoaib Bashir mopped up the Indian tail.
England lost each of their top three batters to Akash Deep (2-36) and Mohammed Siraj (1-21) to reach 77-3 from 20 overs by stumps. Joe Root (18*) and Harry Brook (30*) will resume the English innings on Day 3 while finding themselves another 510 runs away from the visitors.
Cricket Australia has announced the schedule for the 2025-26 edition of the Big Bash League (BBL). As per the schedule, the tournament will launch with a match between Perth Scorchers and Sydney Sixers at the Optus Stadium in Perth on Sunday, December 14. The league will run until January 25, i.e., just a day before the ‘Australia Day’ holiday.
Australian captain Pat Cummins won the toss and opted to bat first on Day 1 of the second Test of the three-match series against West Indies at St George’s. Facing a rain delay, an early lunch was taken in just 23 overs after Australia reached 93-4. Alzarri Joseph struck early with the wickets of Usman Khawaja and comeback man Steve Smith, while Jayden Seales dismissed Cameron Green for 26. Anderson Phillip got rid of Sam Konstas with a nick towards Shai Hope.

England Women’s captain Nat Sciver-Brunt has been ruled out of the upcoming third T20I match against India Women. The cricketer has sustained a left groin injury, as confirmed by the ECB. Brunt has so far registered scores of 66 and 13 in the first two T20Is of the series, aggregating 79 runs in two innings at an average of 39.50. The third T20I match between England Women and India Women will be hosted by The Oval in London on Friday, July 4.
