    Dance Team: Anderson named Brainerd’s MVP – Brainerd Dispatch

    BRAINERD — Camryn Anderson was named the Most Valuable Player for the Brainerd Warriors and the team’s end-of-season banquet.
    Anderson was also voted Most Helpful, along with Hayden Freed. She earned Best Kicks and Best Toe Touches awards and was named to the Class 3A All-State and All-State Tournament kick teams with Beatrice Hartwig.

    She landed spots on the All-Central Lakes Conference kick team with Hartwig, Eva Clough, Kendal Crenna, Makayla Avery and Louie Korhonen. Skylar Aylward and Ivy Debeltz were named all-conference honorable mention.
    Anderson was also on the all-conference jazz team with Hartwig, Clough and Korhonen. Ezmae Carnes and Caitlin Clark were honorable mention selections.
    Korhonen and Clough were named to the All-State and All-State Tournament jazz teams. Korhonen secured Best Turns. Hartwig earned Best Leaps and Best Facials and she and Clough were named Movement Quality Award.
    Other award winners were Crenna (Most Spirited/Biggest Motivator), Penelope Hartwig and Avery Peterson (Cleaning Partner Award), Freed and Kaylianna Pulak (Training Award), Izzy Sedlachek and Freed (Quickest Learner), Clough and Debeltz (Stick it Award), Freed (Most Organized), Penelope Hartwig (Most Optimistic), Debeltz (Personal Placement Award), Aubrey Jukish (Fix it Award), Pulak, Kate Francis and Alexa Medeck (Most Improved Rookie), Pulak (Rookie of the Year) and Crenna and Jukish (Most Improved Veterans).
    Freed won the Heather Star Habeck Scholarship award.
    Earning Academic All-Conference, students with a 3.4 grade-point average or better were Ava Anderson, Olivia Anderson, Camryn Anderson, Makayla Avery, Skylar Aylward, Isabella Bieser, Phia Bieser, Abby Blasing, Clara Bolt, Claire Brandl, Exmae Carnes, Zoe Cervantez, Kennedy Christenson, Caitlyn Clark, Eva Clough, Avery Coonfield, Kate Crenna, Kendal Crenna, Ivy Debeltz, Ada DeVries, Kate Francis, Lucy Franzen, Hayden Freed, Kasey Hamlin, Beatrice Hartwig, Penelope Hartwig, Amaya Isaacson-Pathak, Audrianna Jerve, Gracee Johnston, Aubrey Jukish, Ellie Kiffmeyer, Claira Kotsmith, Gabbi Kubesh, Isabel Kuepers, Ali Lind, Breckyn Mankowski, Stella Marohn, Payton Miller, Claire Nybeck, Calire Reilley, Izzy Sedlachek, Rylie Strus, Brynlee Waidelich.
    Brainerd earned the State Academic Silver Award with a team grade-point average of 3.68 or higher. Freed and Marohn earned Academic All-State as seniors with a 3.85 grade-point average or better.

    Brainerd finished the season as CLC kick and jazz champions. It finished second in the Section 4-3A jazz competition and won the section title for kick. Brainerd placed fourth at state for jazz and repeated as Class 3A kick champions.
    Head coach Cindy Clough was named Section 4-3A Coach of the Year.
    Junior varsity awards were earned by Ella Bieser (Best Kicks), Bella Austin (Best Toe Touches and Best Turns), Avery Coonfield and Rylie Strus (Most Helpful), Kasey Hamlin (Most Organized), Kate Crenna (Stick it Award), Abby Blasing (Hardest Worker and Best Leaps), Claire Brandl and Kirra Langseth (Most Optimistic and Best Attitude), Coonfield (Quickers Learner and Most Improved Veteran), Ali Lind (Best Facials and Smiles), Olivia Anderson and Phia Bieser (Most Improved Rookies) and the team’s Most Valuable Dancer went to Amaya Isaacson-Pathak.
