The Dunkirk Marauders defeated the Fredonia Hillbillies in modified football to improve to 5-0 on the season.
Player of the Game honors went to Diondre Sims, who had an outstanding night with over 100 rushing yards, multiple touchdowns, several tackles on defense, and a game-sealing pick-six to secure the win.
This undefeated group of seventh-, eighth- and ninth-graders has been grinding in the weight room since February, and their commitment is showing every week on the field. The players are coachable, eager to learn and take criticism the right way — all traits that set them apart.
The future is bright for this talented group as they continue to grow together and build something special for the program. The group consists of 19 freshman, who can play at the varsity level and contribute next season.
They are coached by head coach AJ Morales, pictured with the team, Chris McQuiggan and Raul Rosado.
