I love this guy's action, Joseph. I hate facing him. He's fast.
It doesn't look like in his action there's much can go wrong. Beautiful running style, a big jump at the crease and everything is going towards the bowler. As a fast bowler, it's solid.
A nice change-up from Alzarri Joseph who holds it back and deceives Jos Buttler who is through the shot with a slower ball.
Next delivery the crowd gasp after Buttler skies an extravagant drive rather unconvincingly but it plops safe in the outfield.

I swear everyone in that Windies team can bat.

There's some big hitters there in the West Indies line-up. I'd be very surprised if Russell comes in at nine.
England don't take their foot off the gas but West Indies don't either. It could be one of those games with balls flying out the park and big scores or the men on the rope might be in play and low scores might be on the cards. But that is a powerful line-up.
Alzarri Joseph, who is great to watch, is into the attack for West Indies.
Jos Buttler misjudges a pull and picks up a couple of runs off the quick bowler's first delivery down to tthird.
Buttler then controls a pull to a shorter one for a single.Mark Wood

The first one's down the leg side and he hasn't got a bat on it. Next one, he just knocks it dead straight for four. How do they do that? How do you do that?
Jos Buttler at number three. How will this go?
Not a bad start for the ex-England captain who chips Romario Shepherd straight down the ground for four off his first legal delivery.Carlos Brathwaite

That's why he's bowling from that end! Shai Hope – you genius. Looks like a nice little cutter deceiving Duckett – very nicely bowled.
Shepherd has that in his arsenal. He is the most exciting West Indies all-rounder, the one I love to watch.
Welcome to England, Mr Shepherd.
Duckett c Hope b Shepherd 1 (Eng 16-1)
Romario Shepherd – named after the legendary Brazilian striker – starts with a couple of dots on a full length, which Ben Duckett cannot get away.
The West Indies seamer then outfoxes the England left-handed opener with a slower ball that Duckett top edges playing across the line.
A simple catch for Shai Hope. A smart piece of bowling.Mark Wood

If England can get 180, that's usually a good score here.
But if these guys are on, it doesn't matter how big the boundaries are. It's hard to tell with West Indies.
Ben Duckett attempts to work one of his legs and Shai Hope appeals thinking he heard something, but the umpire is not interested and signals a wide. UltraEdge shows it has clipped the left-hander's pad.
Jamie Smith finishes the over with a bit of a swat, which he did not time, but still gets enough on it for the ball to go to the boundary.
A pretty decent first over for England.Mark Wood

Great shot. He's targeting that side. That's the shorter boundary and with the wind.
I didn't think it was a bad ball but England are targeting that side.
Consecutive boundaries for Jamie Smith who elegantly picks it up back of a length from Jason Holder and effortlessly flicks square for four.
Jason Holder sends down a wide.
Something's bothering him in his run up and he's scratching like a rabbit at a spot near his take-off point before walking to the top of his mark having dropped a bit of sawdust on it.Mark Wood

I find it a bit strange having Tom Banton at five but that's how England want to play.
It's a totally different role than he's used to.
Jamie Smith skips down the pitch and drives Jason Holder straight down the ground for four. He timed that beautifully and showed some impressive intent. Kieran Parmley

After losing 29 wickets to spin during their last T20I series in India, England will be quietly delighted to see the No.2 ranked T20I bowler Akeal Hosein miss out today. The addition of two batters with exceptional domestic T20 returns against spin in Jamie Smith (28 avg, 170 SR) and Tom Banton (44 avg, 173 SR) should also improve their returns against spin as a batting unit.
Hosein and batter Jyd Goolie have been unable to travel to the UK for the matches against England and Ireland because of visa issues.
Right, Jamie Smith has just taken his guard at the striker's end. Jason Holder has the white ball in hand and is at the top of his mark for the West Indies.
Let's do this.Ebony Rainford-Brent
Former England batter on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra
Harry Brook wants an aggressive side. You want players who can keep their foot on the gas. We saw that in the ODIs. You look down [the order] and when you look at Adil Rashid at number 10, that is genuinely impressive depth.
I'm interested to see how Tom Banton goes. He hasn't been in the runs of late but we've seen in the past he has the capability to be alongside the top players.
Is the Brook-McCullum axis a recipe for success in T20? What do England need to do to ensure they will be competitive at the T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka next year?
What have you made of Liam Dawson's return from the international wilderness? What do we reckon of Jamie Smith opening instead of Tom Banton and Will Jacks?
We'd love to know your thoughts on the above, and whatever else takes your fancy.
