Making their tournament debut, the Royal Champs are ready to make a bold statement on the field.
Marking a new beginning, they announced veteran Bangladeshi all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan as their new captain. Over the years, Shakib Al Hasan has led Bangladesh, and with the experience of participating in several overseas leagues, his experience will be crucial for the side. His all-round brilliance, cricketing brilliance, will be an asset for the side.
Speaking on his new role, the all-rounder has shared his excitement, aiming a successful season with the champs. He said, “It’s an honour to lead Royal Champs. I’m excited to work with such a talented squad and coaching staff. Together, we’ll chase excellence both on and off the field and give fans a thrilling, competitive season. Being newcomers to the league, our energy and zeal to showcase what we can do will be immense.”
As the team prepares for their maiden campaign in their debut season, coach Courtney Walsh is confident in their squad strength. With a perfect mix of seasoned veterans and explosive new talent, he believes this squad is ready to make a mark on their debut season.
“We’ve worked on building a balanced combination that can adapt to the fast pace of the Abu Dhabi T10. The players have shown great commitment and understanding of their roles, which will be crucial as we aim to make a strong impact in our debut season,” he said.
Making their debut, the Royal Champs are all set to face Vista Riders in their first match on November 19 at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi. With Shakib Al Hasan’s vast experience and sharp leadership at the helm, the team is geared up to chase success early on.
