There have been many reports doing the rounds of the Australia ODIs being Virat Kohli's last series in international cricket. The star batter has already called it a day in Tests and T20Is, but continues to be active in ODIs, with an eye on the 2027 World Cup.
With so many speculations going around, Kohli's brother Vikas has taken to social media to put an end to such stories.
"I am not surprised about so much misinformation and fake news going around these days. Some people are so free and have lots of time to do so… Good luck to you guys," he wrote on his Instagram story, according to Republic World.
Kohli will be back in action for India in the first ODI in Perth on October 19 (Sunday) for the first time since the Champions Trophy in February-March. He played in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, playing a key role in Royal Challengers Bengaluru's (RCB) maiden title win.
The 36-year-old has been in phenomenal form over the last two years in ODIs. Since 2023, Kohli, who has over 14,000 ODI runs, has smashed 1,710 runs at 61.07, which includes seven tons and 10 fifties in 34 innings.
