Gujarat Giants will host Mumbai Indians in match 5 of the ongoing Women’s Premier League at Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara. The inaugural champions suffered a two-wicket defeat to Delhi Capitals in their opening game of the campaign, while Gujarat lost their first match to Royal Challengers Bengaluru but made a stunning comeback against UP Warriorz.
Captain Ashleigh Gardner has been sensational for them, both with the bat and the ball, while Harleen Deol and Deandra Dottin played important knocks in the last game. Opener Beth Mooney also scored a half-century in the opening game against RCB. For Mumbai, Nat Sciver-Brunt played a good knock of 80 runs in the last match but the bowlers let them down. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur, who looked in sensational touch in the last game, can be key too.

Sanjeevan Sajana finished it off in style. He flicks one for four to help Mumbai pick up a five-wicket victory. First win for the Hamanpreet Kaur-led side in WPL 2025.
Sciver-Brunt departed after playing a sensational knock of 57 runs. Priya Mishra picked up the wicket but MI now have only seven runs to win the game.
Amelia Kerr departed for 19 runs off 20 deliveries. Kashvee Gautam picked up the wicket. She was trapped for LBW. MI are 100/4
Terrific knock from the England international. She completed her half-century in 33 deliveries. Only a matter of time now before Mumbai clinch two points.
Yastika Bhatia departed for eight runs, while captain Harmanpreet made four. Sciver-Brunt kept the action alive.

Amelia Kerr’s terrific effort on the field sends Dayalan Hemalatha back to the pavilion. Wicket number three for Gujarat. Hayley Matthews struck as Hemalatha departed for nine. Gujarat are 16/3 after 3.3 overs.
Pressure was building on Gujarat. They were playing too many dot deliveries and it forced Laura Wolvaardt to go for the big shots. It resulted in the opener losing her wicket for four runs. Gujarat are 14/2 after 2.5 overs.
