    Kamran Akmal went all guns blazing against the team for their poor ICC Champions Trophy performances.

    The former wicket-keeper thought the team’s performances had been a huge reason for tarnishing the reputation of Pakistan cricket while referring to the absence of PCB officials at the post-tournament ceremony.
    He also thought that even the ‘minnow teams’ in his words have shown mirrors to Pakistan cricket, pointing out the levels they play at.

    Speaking on his YouTube channel, Catch and Bat with Kamran Akmal, Akmal asked questions regarding the absence of PCB officials at the ceremony after the final and admitted that he was not good enough to be there,

    “The ICC showed us the mirror. The tournament’s director was there. He was available, and why wasn’t he in the ceremony? It is because we don’t deserve to be there. We are not playing good cricket,” said Akmal
    “Minow teams have shown us the mirror. No one discussed how Pakistan hosted the tournament. If we play such cricket, we will be treated like this. If you play for yourself, there will be no respect,” he added.
    Another news agency also pointed out the fact that even the ICC CEO was not present at the ceremony, calling it the protocol,

    “If the PCB mandarins look up, even ICC CEO Geoff Allardice wasn’t present on stage. The reason is protocol. Sumair Ahmed is an employee of the PCB and not an office-bearer. Also, please check when has a tournament director has been on stage for presentation?”, cited the agency.
