India vs England Day 5 LIVE Cricket Score
UPDATE – 7.16 pm IST (1.46 pm GMT) – It’s still drizzling, but the ground staff are waiting near the hover cover. The skies have brightened up a bit, which is a positive sign.
The umpires have had enough! The rain has picked up considerably, and they have called for the hover cover to be brought on. India won’t mind this break at all. It had been all England in the session so far, with the two openers firmly in control and dominating the proceedings. Stuart Broad reckons the cloud cover isn’t too heavy, suggesting this could just be a passing shower.
What’s been most impressive about this partnership is not just the boundaries, but also the smart rotation of strike and the constant flow of singles.
Game stopped due to : Rain Stoppage
40.5: Mohammed Siraj to Zak Crawley, Short of full, on off, Zak Crawley presses forward and taps it in front of cover and pinches in a quick single.

40.3: Mohammed Siraj to Ben Duckett, SWING AND A MISS! Speared fuller and just outside off. Ben Duckett clears the front leg to smash it down the ground, but misses.
40.2: Mohammed Siraj to Zak Crawley, On a back of a length, angling into the stumps. Zak Crawley taps it to the right of the bowler for a quick single.
40.1: Mohammed Siraj to Ben Duckett, Outside off, on a hard length, Ben Duckett cuts it away to deep backward point for a single.
The umpires do look a bit concerned now about the rain but we stay on.
39.6: Ravindra Jadeja to Ben Duckett, Fuller, on the off stump. Ben Duckett once again sits down on his knee and reverse sweeps it to deep backward point for one.
39.5: Ravindra Jadeja to Ben Duckett, Length, spinning in from off, stabbed back to the bowler off the back foot.
39.4: Ravindra Jadeja to Ben Duckett, FOUR! HUNDRED FOR BEN DUCKETT! What a flamboyant innings from him His 6th Test century! An inning of high caliber and quality. Jadeja floats it fuller and keeps it in front of the stumps. Ben Duckett premeditates it and reverse sweeps it to deep point for a boundary. The Headingley crowd is on its feet, cheering in jubilation as Duckett celebrates with a leap of joy, with the mizzle in the background. Batted under extreme conditions, even got dropped on 98, just a few moments back, and has produced a gem of a knock so far for his side.
39.3: Ravindra Jadeja to Ben Duckett, Flighted fuller, on middle, clipped to short leg.
39.2: Ravindra Jadeja to Ben Duckett, Quicker and fuller, outside off. Ben Duckett sits down on one knee and looks to reverse sweep but misses it.
39.1: Ravindra Jadeja to Ben Duckett, FOUR BYES! England need under 200 now! Full and spinning sharply across the batter, down leg. Ben Duckett looks to flick it away, but misses and the ball spins far away from the keeper’s right and races away to the deep fine leg fence.
38.6: Mohammed Siraj to Zak Crawley, Bowls it on a good length, angling onto the pads. Zak Crawley looks to clip it to the leg side but misses it and wears it on the front thigh pad. A half-hearted appeal of LBW from Mohammed Siraj as it looks like going down the leg side.
38.5: Mohammed Siraj to Ben Duckett, IN THE AIR… DROPPED! Yashasvi Jaiswal is the culprit for one more time, and Mohammed Siraj just cannot believe it! Hands on his waist for him and is really hot under the collar! Nothing going India’s way quite really! Mohammed Siraj bowls a well-directed short ball, angling into the batter’s body. Ben Duckett gets the ball high on his shoulder height and shapes to pull. Gets a top edge and the ball flies behind square on the leg side. Yashasvi Jaiswal from deep backward square leg runs in and dives forward to scoop the ball, but doesn’t cling on to it and shells it. A single taken and more importantly, Duckett is offered a reprieve. It’s been just that kind of a Test for Jaiswal in the field. The ball has just followed him and he hasn’t held on to the chances he’s got. But that should have been taken even by the standards of regulation catching.
38.4: Mohammed Siraj to Ben Duckett, On a good length, outside off. Ben Duckett opens his arms and cuts it straight to the gully fielder.
