The landmark event will be jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka from November 11 to 23, 2025, with matches scheduled in New Delhi, Bengaluru, and Colombo.
IndusInd Bank, an Indian banking and financial services company, has announced its partnership with the Cricket Association for the Blind in India (CABI) to support the Indian Women’s Blind Cricket Team ahead of the first-ever Women’s T20 World Cup for the Blind.
The landmark event will be jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka from November 11 to 23, 2025, with matches scheduled in New Delhi, Bengaluru, and Colombo.
The tournament represents a watershed moment for adaptive sports, featuring seven participating nations, including India, Australia, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and the USA. It will be the first time India’s women’s blind cricket team competes on the global stage, marking a transformative step for gender and ability inclusion in sport.
Through this collaboration, IndusInd Bank strengthens its long-standing commitment to inclusivity, accessibility, and empowerment through sports.
Commenting on the collaboration, Sanjeev Anand, Head – Corporate, Commercial & Rural  Banking, IndusInd Bank, said, “We are proud to support the Indian Women’s Blind Cricket Team as they  prepare for the world’s first T20 World Cup Championship for the Blind. At IndusInd Bank, inclusion is at  the heart of our organisational ethos, and our long-standing partnership with CABI reflects our  commitment to creating equal opportunities and celebrating talent beyond barriers. These athletes  inspire us with their resilience and determination, and we are honoured to stand with them as they  represent India on a global stage.”
Echoing the sentiment, CABI Chairman Dr. Mahantesh G. Kivadasannavar added, “This is a  truly proud moment for CABI and for our nation as a whole. Our women’s team has exemplified courage,  perseverance, and an unwavering commitment to excellence in their journey to this stage. Their  achievements reflect the growing strength and inclusivity of cricket for the blind in India. We are deeply  grateful to IndusInd Bank for their enduring partnership and continued faith in our mission to empower  visually impaired athletes. Their invaluable support has played a key role in helping these remarkable  women pursue their dreams and bring honour to the country through sport.”
The partnership builds on IndusInd Bank’s consistent engagement with adaptive sports. The bank has previously supported CABI through initiatives like the IndusInd Bank Nagesh Trophy National T20 Cricket Tournament for the Blind, while also partnering with the Paralympic Committee of India for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games and collaborating with the International Cricket Council (ICC) on inclusive cricket programs.
The Indian Women’s Blind Cricket Team, comprising 16 players including Kavya N.R., Jamuna Rani Tudu, Karuna Kumari, Ganga Kadam, Sunita Sarathe, and Sushma Patel, has been undergoing rigorous training under CABI’s supervision. Their preparation reflects the growing infrastructure, professional support, and recognition for visually impaired athletes in India.
CABI, operating under the Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled, has been instrumental in developing blind cricket nationally and internationally. The Women’s T20 World Cup for the Blind, with a projected budget of ₹6.25 crore, will fund athlete training, equipment, travel, and infrastructure, ensuring world-class standards of competition and inclusion.
Beyond competition, the event aims to champion equality, expand opportunities for women athletes with disabilities, and position India as a global leader in inclusive sporting development.
As the countdown begins, the Indian Women’s Blind Cricket Team stands on the brink of history, ready to inspire millions with a message that transcends sport: that talent and determination know no barriers.
