Five players from Class 4A state champion Oswego highlight the first and second teams.
Jaelynn Anthony, Oswego, junior, pitcher/infielder: Went 22-1 with 1.55 ERA and 194 strikeouts in 139 2/3 innings. Batted .483 with 57 hits, 16 doubles, 13 home runs and 57 RBIs. First team all-state. All-conference. Committed to Purdue.
Kiyah Chavez, Oswego, senior, catcher: Batted .516 with program records of 65 hits, 19 doubles and 61 RBIs. Also hit 12 homers. Struck out once in two seasons. Picked off 10 runners and caught five stealing. First team all-state. Conference’s MVP. Committed to Iowa.
Aubriella Garza, Oswego, senior, pitcher/infielder: Holds program record for single-season homers with 14 and career homers with 38. Batted .435 with 54 hits and 54 RBIs. Owns program career records with 198 hits, 55 doubles and 164 RBIs. Second team all-state. All-conference. Committed to Northern Illinois.
Kayla Kersting, Yorkville, junior, catcher/infielder: Batted .569 with 58 hits, seven doubles, 12 triples, 10 homers, 40 RBIs. Went 20-for-21 on stolen bases. First team all-state. All-conference. Committed to Iowa.
Anna Kiel, South Elgin, senior, pitcher/infielder: Went 14-4 with 0.81 ERA. Struck out 178 in 113 innings. Batted .506 with 45 hits and 24 RBIs. First team all-state. Conference’s pitcher of the year. Committed to Loyola.
Paige Murray, St. Charles North, senior, pitcher: Went 12-5 with 140 strikeouts and 1.82 ERA in 126 2/3 innings. Batted .397 with eight doubles and 15 RBIs. First team all-state. Conference’s pitcher of the year..
Mackenzie Patterson, St. Charles North, senior, outfielder: Batted .408 with 31 hits, 12 steals, 15 RBIs. Didn’t make an error in center field. Second team all-state. All-conference. Committed to Loyola.
Bria Riebel, Hampshire, senior, infielder: Led area in four categories, hitting .624 with 73 hits, 27 doubles, 62 RBIs. Also had 13 homers. First team all-state, all-conference. Committed to South Dakota State.
Danielle Stone, Oswego East, sophomore catcher/utility: Batted .477 with 51 hits, 14 doubles, four homers, 46 RBIs. Third team all-state. All-conference.
Hayden Sujack, St. Charles East, junior, catcher/utility: Batted .460 with 46 hits, 11 doubles, 16 homers, 46 RBIs. Caught 11 runners stealing. First team all-state. All-conference. Committed to South Carolina.

Adalynn Fugitt, Oswego, freshman, infielder/pitcher: Batted .469 with 61 hits and program-record 52 runs. Added 18 steals and 13 RBIs. All-conference.
Sarah Gurley, St. Edward, sophomore, infielder: Batted .566 with 56 hits, 11 doubles, five triples, four homers, 21 RBIs. Second team all-state. All-conference.
Rikka Ludvigson, Oswego, senior, infielder: Batted .355 with 43 hits, seven doubles, five homers, 33 RBIs. Third team all-state. All-conference. Committed to Milwaukee School of Engineering.

Christina Stankus, Bartlett, senior, pitcher/outfielder: Batted .425 with 28 steals, five doubles, five triples, six homers and 30 RBIs. Went 11-12 with 3.13 ERA and 140 strikeouts in 138 innings. Third team all-state. Conference’s player of the year. Committed to Indianapolis.
