MS Dhoni’s name has always stirred emotions. Even after all these years, one question still comes up- is Dhoni overrated?
Former Australian fast bowler Brett Lee doesn’t think so. In fact, he believes Dhoni changed cricket forever, both in style and mindset.

Lee spoke about Dhoni’s impact and compared him to another game-changer, Adam Gilchrist.
According to Lee, Dhoni not only redefined finishing in limited-overs cricket but also set new standards for calm leadership, both on and off the field.
When asked if Dhoni was overrated, Brett Lee immediately dismissed the idea. “He is not overrated. No, I disagree. MS Dhoni changed the way the game is played, a bit like Gilly (Adam Gilchrist),” Lee said.
Lee further explained how both Dhoni and Gilchrist wrecked it for everyone because of how extraordinary they were.
He admired Dhoni’s calm nature, saying, “You rarely saw him sweat or lose his cool. I have only seen him lose it once on the field, when he walked out to have a chat with the umpires on the field,”
The former pacer added that Dhoni’s personality off the field was just as special, “Guys who played with him say he is the nicest guy. His door is always open,”

MS Dhoni didn’t just captain India but he revolutionized the way India approached pressure. Before him, chasing big targets was often seen as risky. But Dhoni made it look like an art.
Whether it was his famous six in the 2011 World Cup final or his countless calm finishes for Chennai Super Kings, he made winning from tense situations feel routine.
Under his captaincy, India won every ICC trophy possible:
He even took India to the No. 1 Test ranking. In numbers, Dhoni led India in 60 Tests (27 wins), 200 ODIs (110 wins), and 72 T20Is (41 wins). His ODI average of 50.57 and T20I average of 37.60 show that he was equally good with the bat.
