    James Joseph Concilla
    Born July 26, 1937, the third child to James G. Concilla and Rose Jenco Concilla, James Joseph Concilla – “Jim”- “Jimmy” and eventually “Coach”, dad, papa and pap pap went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, Oct. 12, 2025.
    Jim grew up loving his family, hunting, fishing, and football. He graduated from North East High School in 1955 and Edinboro Teachers College with a Bachelor’s Degree four years later. He was a record holder at Edinboro University for football. He landed a teaching / coaching job in Silver Creek, NY, where he met and married the love of his life, Margaret “Peggy” Nearhoof in Aug. of 1962. They recently celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary. They moved back to North East in 1966, where he coached his Alma Mater. He was very proud of his coaching career where he coached an undefeated, unscored upon season in 1967-68. He was later elected in the North East Hall of Fame and the Metropolitan Erie Chapter of PA Sports Hall of Fame. After retiring from teaching, Jim was the president of Vineyard Oil and Gas Company. He was also a member of Knights of Columbus.
    Jim was predeceased by his parents, James and Rose; two sisters: Josephine (Joseph) Gervase, and Antoinette (Cliff) Carlin; as well as his in-laws, James and Dorothy Nearhoof; a brother-in-law, many aunts, uncles, cousins, a niece, and a great-nephew.
    Jim is survived by his wife, Peg and together they have four children: Deb (Hugh) Slaugenhaupt, Chris (Caroline Ruddle) Concilla, Greg Concilla, and Jaime (Aaron) Ollinger. They have eight grandchildren: Kayla (Scott Andrew) Burke, Gregory (Anna) Concilla, Emily Slaugenhaupt, Michael Concilla, Jocelyn Ollinger, Avery Ollinger, Aiden Ollinger, and Lucas Ollinger. Also, the couple has four great-grandchildren: Graham Concilla, Andrea Concilla, Henry Burke, and Vivianne Burke. They loved their Pap Pap, and he loved seeing them playing at his house.
    Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral & Cremation Services Harborcreek, 5151 Buffalo Road. (at Hannon Road.) on Friday, Oct. 17, from 3 to 7 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held St. Gregory RC Church, 48 S. Pearl St., North East on Saturday at 10 AM. James will then be laid to rest at St. Gregory Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Community Nursing Services of North East, 7 Park St., North East, PA 16428, or St. Gregory RC Church, 136 W. Main St., North East, PA 16428.
