Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels suffered a significant injury to his non-throwing arm as Washington was blown out at home 38-14 by the Seattle Seahawks on “Sunday Night Football.”
Daniels' left arm was put in an air cast after it was bent in an awkward fashion while he was being tackled on a play during the fourth quarter.
The game was well out of reach for the Commanders by that point. The Seahawks had led 31-7 at halftime behind four first-half touchdown passes by Sam Darnold. Jaxon Smith-Njigba had eight catches for 129 yards tonight, while Tory Horton caught two TDs.

Sam Darnold was simply unstoppable tonight as he continues making good on his mid-career resurgence. The Seahawks quarterback did most of his damage in the first quarter but still finished 21-for-24 with 330 yards passing and two touchdowns. What a statement for Darnold on national TV in prime-time as he looks to get Seattle back to the playoffs.

Brandon S: If Daniels misses extended time because we didn’t pull him and choose to run option plays in a 38-7 game in the fourth quarter….
Chris B: Wtf is Daniels still doing in there? It’s absolutely coaching malpractice to have a guy in his first game back from injury still playing in the 4th quarter of a 38-7 blowout!!!!
John H: Why are these coaches paid all of this money when they leave their best player (Daniels) in a 38-7 game while just getting back from injury?
Jason P: The only thing I can think of is that maybe he told Dan Quinn he wasn’t coming out of the game. Otherwise, that’s coaching malpractice for a player trying to return from injury.
After missing last week with a hamstring injury, Jayden Daniels looked healthy enough and had moments of brilliance, but Washington’s implosion on defense and wide receiver injuries were simply too much for the defending NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year to overcome — and then he suffered a gruesome-looking injury to his left arm.
Daniels put out his arm to brace himself as he was tackled to the ground, only to have his arm bent backward and pinned behind him. The entire Washington team gathered around their leader as he was helped into a cast and then helped off the field.
The good news for Daniels is that the injury happened to his non-throwing arm, which should help mitigate the long-term affects of this injury on his ability. The bad news is that this is likely the last we will see of the face of the Washington Commanders in the 2025 NFL season.
Daniels finished 16-for-22 passing with 153 yards and an interception and also had 51 yards on 10 carries.

Jayden Daniels suffered a gruesome arm injury midway through the fourth quarter of Washington's blowout loss to the Seahawks. His arm snapped back as he landed on a sack. He writhed in pain as the medical staff rushed to his side and teammates dropped to one knee. His left arm was put in a large brace as the entire team came out to his side and a cart drove out. Daniels declined to take it, however, choosing instead to walk back to the locker room as team athletic trainers held his left arm/elbow.

Jayden Daniels, who never stands alone on the sideline in between series, is doing just that. He's at the far end of the bench, with a towel over his head as he watches the defense. Deebo Samuel came over to stand next to him and now both are watching silently as the stands at Northwest Stadium clear.
