Harry Maguire has restored Manchester United's lead in the closing stages of their clash against Liverpool and Anfield.
Bryan Mbeumo stunned the Premier League champions early on, lashing past Giorgi Mamardashvili with exactly 60 seconds on the clock.
As both sides pushed for the game's second goal, Cody Gakpo and then Bruno Fernandes rattled the post at either end, before Gakpo hit it twice more as Senne Lammens' goal lived a charm life.
The Dutchman would not be denied a fourth time, though, as he tapped in from close range to equalise.

This match is spectacular.
Harry Maguire raises his arms to the away fans, pumping his fists in delight in front of the throng of supporters going absolutely barmy.

I don't believe it! Harry Maguire finds the net and Manchester United have stunned Anfield once again!
Anfield is bouncing. They believe they can win this now.
Massive credit to Chiesa for the part he played in Gakpo's goal. He really needs to be given more opportunities to shine.
The Italian a difference every time he comes on.

We're hearing Cody Gakpo was due to be coming off for Jeremie Frimpong in Liverpool's final sub moments before he equalised.
Now that decision has been reversed. He stays on!
Ruben Amorim has turned to his bench, though.

How Cody Gakpo must be relieved and delighted after hitting the post a grand total of three times so far today before that leveller.
After a series of set pieces, it never really felt like United managed to get the ball away fully.
A massive tackle from Van Dijk prevented a United counter attack, hooking it around Bryan Mbeumo, and Liverpool surged down the left.
Sub Federico Chiesa with another goal involvement off the bench, squaring it for Cody Gakpo, a clever cross beyond the United defence but in front of goalie Senne Lammens.
Gakpo nearly missed it but with his instep just about managed to find the corner of the unguarded net. A brief check for offside shows he is on and we are level at Anfield!

Cody Gakpo has it in the net now!
But is it offside? No! Patrick Dorgu is playing him on!

Neat footwork from Liverpool outside the box, Szoboszlai side-stepping Ugarte, who over-committed himself, then sliding it into Salah.
Patrick Dorgu did well to poke it behind to deny the Egyptian a shot.
Corner, cleared, another, cleared.
But wait…
This game is so stretched now.
Liverpool looking threatening with Wirtz finding pockets of space but United are a threat on the counter.
75' Liverpool 0-1 Manchester United
For all the nail-biting and freneticism of the action, there is still more than 15 minutes, plus added time, for Liverpool to find at least a goal.
Only one more sub for the hosts, but plenty of time.
The trick for United will be scoring the second.

Chiesa is on, but Salah stays on. Instead it's Isak coming off.
Nowhere near good enough from the £125million striker.
Salah then gives the ball back to United with a really poor cross. Easy for Lammens to claim.
72' Liverpool 0-1 Manchester United
It must be much better for the blood pressure of United fans having a seemingly cool and calm goalkeeper like Senne Lammens between the sticks rather than the generally inconsistent Andre Onana.
That said… Luke Shaw cleared a ball straight up in the air and Lammens took too many steps forward in claiming it.
He eventually, just about, caught the ball nearly a yard behind his head!

Federico Chiesa looks to be coming on too.
The Italian has scored a few late goals for Liverpool this season.
My bet on who's coming off? The ineffective and disappointing Mohamed Salah.
Who would have thought it?
Slot threw caution to the wind with that triple change. It's effectively now a front four with Gakpo, Ekitike, Isak and Salah up top, and Wirtz playing just in behind.
Ekitike has already added something they were missing with his energy and directness.
70' Liverpool 0-1 Manchester United
Hugo Ekitike has looked sharper in five minutes than Alexander Isak has in the whole match so far.
He picks the ball up outside the box and cracks a lovely clean strike not far wide.
Good effort.
Following on from Carl's post, Liverpool fans will be familiar with the only player on record (since 2003-04) in Premier League history to hit the woodwork more than three times in a single match.
That is of course their former striker Darwin Nunez, who did it four times against Chelsea in January of last year.
Could Gakpo make it four today as well?

Tough gig for Milos Kerkez. Signed for big money to replace Andy Robertson, struggling to live up to that price tag…
And then his captain Virgil van Dijk miscues a clearance, straight into his face. His nose looks redder than Rudolph's.
And Van Dijk then had a go at him for being in the wrong position. Poor lad.

Amorim wasting no time protecting the players on bookings, taking off Casemiro and Amad.
After 180 minutes in Asia for Casemiro, that makes total sense.
Amad was unlucky to be carded for his tackle on Gakpo. He had the beating of Kerkez.
Sesko is now on too, to add something different to United’s attack. The game is finely poised.

Anfield is alive with noise!
Liverpool win it in midfield, the attack is on and SEVEN home players are sprinting towards the United goal.
A cross flipped up to the back post, Salah takes it down, Lammens sprints off his line, and Salah smashes it well wide.
Poor miss. He looks off it.
Ruben Amorim made some tweaks with his number 10s against Sunderland, getting them to sit closer to his centre-forward to stodge up the middle of the park. It has played out in a similar way today.
There are periods where his team have been close to their own box and have held shape in a 5-4-1 with Cunha as the most advanced player.
When Liverpool are in their own half, United have been attempting to defend in a 5-3-2 with Cunha and Mbeumo up front and Mount, before coming off, dropping in to join Fernandes and Casemiro in midfield.
Mount's off-ball intelligence has been essential to making this all work so far. His ability to switch between defensive schemes at a glance make him a cheat code for many a system.
