KANSAS CITY, Mo. — For the eighth time in program history, Michigan Tech has an NABC All-America student-athlete. Marcus Tomashek becomes the seventh player to earn All-America honors from the National Association of Basketball Coaches announced Tuesday.
He is the first Husky to earn All-America status since Owen White in 2020-21 and the eighth in program history.
The standout guard from Green Bay, Wisconsin, earned D2CCA Midwest Region Player of the Year and GLIAC Player of the Year selections to go with All-Region and All-GLIAC First Team honors. He helped the Huskies to a GLIAC regular season outright championship and an NCAA Tournament berth as Michigan Tech finished the season 24-8 overall.
For the year, Tomashek was a five-time GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week and a one-time National Player of the Week selection, amassing 23.2 points, 4.2 rebounds and 2.8 dimes per outing. The junior ranks 11th in the country in scoring, collecting 30 or more points nine times, including two 40-point outbursts. His 720 points this season ranks seventh nationally and the fourth-most points for a season in program history.
