The New York Mets are in a tight race for the top spot in the National League East with the Philadelphia Phillies. They are just a half-game behind the reigning division champions entering play on Wednesday.
They currently hold the second NL Wild Card spot. The Mets are also expected to be active buyers at this year's trade deadline.
While bullpen help is their top priority, they could use a little offense. With so few sellers, it might be hard to find.
However, Mike Axisa of CBS Sports proposed the idea of New York taking a flyer on Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr.
"The Mets also need a center fielder. Robert is having a terrible year overall, though he's been better offensively the last few weeks, and he's still a great defender. The White Sox obviously will not pick up his $20 million club option after the season. They're going to trade Robert for whatever they can get at the deadline," Axisa wrote.

The Mets could certainly use a little help in the outfield. Robert could be a solid buy-low option.
The former All-Star is slashing just .206/.292/.344 with 10 home runs, 40 RBI, 25 stolen bases and a miserable .636 OPS. But perhaps a change of scenery could help him.
The White Sox are well out of postseason contention, while the Mets are firmly in the race. Adding a bat such as Robert, even in the midst of his struggles, could give the Mets a major boost offensively as they try to gain an edge over the Phillies.
Robert is a free agent at the end of the season, barring his club option being picked up. If he performs well, perhaps the Mets could keep him around another year or two.
We'll see if they show interest in the 27-year-old outfielder.
