Indian Billionaire Mukesh Ambani is launching a stunning foray into the sports drinks segment with the name called “Spinner” at just Rs 10, where he will put himself against corporate giants like Gatorade and Powerade. It is co-created with the Sri Lankan cricketing legend Muttiah Muralitharan.
Launching the product, the company stated – “Spinner is designed for every Indian including fitness enthusiasts, and anyone in need of a quick, effective hydration solution. Whether powering through a workout at the gym or out on the field playing your favourite sport, Spinner is the perfect companion to replenish lost fluids and electrolytes,”.
Apart from that the co-creator of the product Muttiah Muralitharan was seen delighted and stated –
“I am thrilled to be a part of this exciting venture with Reliance Consumer Products. As an athlete, I know how important hydration is, especially when you’re on the move or playing a sport. Spinner is a game-changer that will empower every Indian to stay hydrated and active, no matter where they are or what they’re doing.”

Reliance is leveraging its successful low-price strategy once again to disrupt the market. Meanwhile, Unilever is aiming for the premium customer market with Liquid IV, making competition in the space of sports and energy drinks much fiercer. Since Reliance enjoyed previous success with Campa, Spinner could become a market shake-up with a big to-do.
